By 2020, the Egyptian Ministry of Transport wants to extend line 3 of the Cairo metro in Egypt. This third metro line will represent a total of 30 kilometres, 29 stops (stations) and will connect the capital Imbaba to Cairo airport.
Today, car traffic is reaching saturation point and this extension will relieve the city's congestion. The objective is to reduce daily traffic to Cairo by 30%. About 2 million passengers will be able to benefit from this new line.
We had the pleasure of delivering JALFORM panels, Métrix stair towers ALTRAD PLETTAC MEFRAN and pile formwork with a maximum height of 16.5 metres for this major project. This metro line will have a large overhead section, hence the use of our battery formwork.
